Update (July 2017) – Microsoft has outsourced the Nokia software related services and downloads to B2X company. Nokia Software Recovery Tool (NSRT) got an update recently with version number 8.0.23 and B2X as the new publisher. Microsoft released a new version 6.3.56 of Nokia Software Recovery Tool (NSRT)recently. As the name indicates, NSRT is a phone service software for all Nokia phones except Lumias. In this release Microsoft has fixed the Nokia firmware download issue.

As you may know, Microsoft closed down all Nokia websites including firmware repository earlier this year. This blackout rendered all Nokia firmware downloading softwares (like Navifirm, Nokia Suite, NDPM, Nokia Care Suite) useless. However the new NSRT update makes it clear that (fortunately) Microsoft has not deleted the Nokia firmware files altogether. The elder scrolls v skyrim keygen download for windows. This shift resulted in change of firmware file URLs which can be accessed via new NSRT now. Hopefully other such softwares will also get updates in the future with access to new download URLs. What is Nokia Software Recovery Tool (NSRT)? If you don’t know, NSRT is a computer software to reset/update Nokia phones (Symbian, Asha, S40 except Lumia). It can also be used to flash soft-bricked Nokia phones to solve common firmware related issues (boot-loop, hangs, frequent restarts, stuck at Nokia logo/white screen etc). NSRT downloads the latest official firmware files and then re-install (commonly called as “flashing”) these in the phone.

Download latest version of NSRT from and install in your computer (compatible with Windows 7 or later OS). Note that even if you already have an older version of NSRT installed, it will not notify you of the update. You have to download and install the new version from the link above – the older version will be removed during the installation.

After installation, launch NSRT and connect your Nokia phone (in switch ON condition) with computer using USB data cable. Wait for a while as NSRT detects the phone – it will show phone details at the left side and latest available phone software at the right-hand side. Click “Install” button – read and agree to the terms – NSRT will start downloading firmware files – wait for the download process to complete. If you just want to download the firmware files (and not want to flash the phone) then keep an eye over the download process and disconnect the phone just when the download finishes. Otherwise NSRT will start flashing the phone soon after the download process. You may then use these files to flash your phone via NSRT (or any other such software like Phoenix Service Software) in offline mode.

It is recommended to download your phone’s firmware files even if you do not need these right now. Because you never know when Microsoft will scrap download links to Nokia firmware files making you helpless. And chances are that it will happen soon! Remember Microsoft set the deadline (December 31, 2016) way back in 2012 to abolish all kind of support for Nokia phones. So better act now!

I tried to download firmware of Nokia 6303 (a S40 phone), NSRT recognized the phone but gave error “Software package not available for this phone” – “Package download for the selected phone failed” (See the screenshot below).
