Yes, I've had no trouble uploading my HD youtube videos (all of which are in Standard HD, not true HD) and they are always under 700MB. I've been uploading at least one or two a day since the beginning of June, all of which to excellent and speedy results, always in 30 minutes flat!:) But today, however! Today, it took over TWO HOURS to upload my video! Absolutely no change whatsoever was made on my end to my OS, internet connection, ISP, or video editor settings. And now the functionality is not even available for me to access the Video Manager OR the upload page! Please, this problem is not unique to just HD uploaders!:) Thank you! Oddly, i uploaded one file at about 8am eastern time and it went up normally.

- I uninstalled the Windows updates from the last 2 months and did a fresh cumulative. After that a fresh install of the video card drivers. Problem solved, just as smooth as before. Took me a couple of days to find out though. But I read somewhere that people were getting problems with there video cards after certain updates so that got me started.
Then, about 2 hours ago i tried another upload-slightly smaller file-and it got up to about 800 minutes when i just cancelled and tried again.and again. Now, it's just sitting on 18 percent for the past half hour.
Digital photo viewer keychain drivers. I haven't put anything up in months, and this was going to be a morale boost that i actually got them posted. And now, it's just more frustration. Does anyone know if this is temporary, or if there is anything we should be doing to correct it or make it better? Prjkthack 11:25.
Yeah I have to say, been trying to upload this one video for the past 48 hours, and it starts out fine, with maybe an estimate of about 300 minutes or so (which is normal since this is an 8 gig file), but then quickly jumps to about 13000 minutes estimated time after hitting 1 or 2 percent (if it even gets there). My connection appears to be fine, and upload speeds are usually very fast, as I've never had this issue before.

I wonder if something is up with YouTube? Flarestarchild 14:03. I am also having the issue, thank god. I thought I was going nuts!
1.48gb file, I know for a FACT it takes around 200 minutes to upload on my connection, I have had to cancel and try to re-upload it 5 times and its on its 5th upload now. It will freeze at random times and show in Net Limiter that its still uploading at 1.5kb/s (my max is 130) for the last 8 hours. At this point it completely freezes and will not progress no matter how long I leave it for causing me to have to cancel the upload and try AGAIN. This is extremely annoying! PLEASE Google, fix this issue! Undertakerlives 15:09. Well, the minutes never really work, when you're downloading something it doesn't go that right either, i'm sure of that, that is a glitch of course, but don't expect that to get better.
The part which isn't a glitch is that it takes so long, they could make different streaming lines for people to post on so it would be somewhat quicker, but even then, it would takes some time for it to get you to the right one. Its just because theres so many people posting all the time, as i said. Loran Jenkins 18:26. Noticed your topic late, but as far as I see. Its definitely a youtube issue with no cure in sight and with no one giving as valid explanation.
It has nothing to do with the video being HD or not. Nor does this issue have to do with a user's upload speed or their file size. This problem is on youtube's end which for the life of me I can't understand why some people insist that it has to be your file size thats the issue. For people trying to upload 56GB files, yes their going to have a problem. Especially if your upload speed is 1MB. Heck even if it was 5MB or more. My usual uploads for their files size of 900MB and upload rate of 5MB always took 20-23 minutes.
All I see are 150 - 2,000 minutes. Occasionally it will start acting right, but it always goes back to this issue and I've yet to see any 'plausible' solution for this issue or to why this is happening. And for those saying its because of the amount of people uploading, people have been uploading all the time. This has happened before, but not at the length of time its currently been happening. Not for months on end. Crombie SP 13:58. I had tried uploading a video I'd exported from Windows Live Movie Maker which was 181 MB for four and a half minutes, and it started at around 180 minutes and went up to 500+ within a minute or so - a couple times - before I just gave up.
HOWEVER - I exported the same video at lower quality, coming out to 51 MB for the same amount of time, and it uploaded fine in about 20 minutes. I can't explain why this would make sense. Perhaps under a certain size they don't care about it as much and let it upload because it's smaller? Or perhaps because the bitrate is less? I don't know, I just figured I'd share my experience in case it ends up helping anyone. Best of luck to you all.
Brian solis 20:05. Its all on ur bandwidth, if you use and it shows you speed (very accurate) it doesnt mean u actualy upload at that speed. Your Internet is slowed down sooooo much by other devices.
Even if you have the BEST computer and a great Internet. If other devices are on, you will get like a 6 hour upload time.
This is very common. Use handbreak also (dont wait more than 30 minutes per video on it) it decreases the file size from huge files. Fraps files can go from 8GB to 700MB is under 30 minutes on handbreak. Then u can open ur web browser and upload it from YouTube.com.
Also restart ur computer before you upload and let it cool down a bit so it runs better. Hope this helps. I have a.5 MB upload speed and i can upload a 22 minute video in under 6 hours (so everyone else who has a 5 MB or higher is sooo set to do YouTube) peace out. Posted by Me, on 5/22/14 Have a nice life. The one and only John 07:35. Yeah but it really decreases the size of the file, and thus the quality. Fraps makes my videos really big but really good.
Around 1 Gb per minute. I know, too much, especially with 30 min vids. But the results are good, I upload a week ahead so it's not worrying me too much. It's now been a few days, I think 6, and it's at 59%. It says it still takes 6243 minutes which is equal to 4.7 days.
(devided by 1440) Since I need to have it up on June 14 it's not too much of a problem but I do constantly need to keep my computer on. Ben Preedy 06:06. So, yes, I also have encountered this problem. I am attempting to upload a 68mb video in.mp4 (video codec: h264, audio codec: mp3 @ 44100khz, 256 bitrate and 2-channel stereo) at 1080x720 resolution. I have played it 100% completely on my PC with VLC media player and it works fine. YouTube says: Uploading 0% 3980859 minutes remaining The time remaining just keeps increasing, and my internet connection is fine. (currently uploading at around 180kbps stable when I monitor my network traffic.
It's been about 10 minutes so far, so I just want to find out if it's a glitch on YouTube where there isn't a 'preview' or 'upload status' for the file format, or if I should cancel the download and try again. I can probably convert the video to a different format, but I'm not sure if that is the problem and don't want to unnecessarily waste time converting the video and scrapping the upload progress so far. Any advice / feedback? (I'll keep the upload running for about 40 minutes and post an update soon if it finished uploading successfully).
Feltrex 09:26. I have the same issue as well. However I must be uploading the largest files ever uploaded to YouTube. Every response on Google forums and independent forums all state that they are uploading 500MB files lol. I Stream entire bowling tournaments and upload them to YouTube for the fans for free.
My video's range from 60GB to 100GB. The longest it has taken me to upload a file is 18 hours. I Have excellent internet, 30meg down and 4meg up when I run speed tests.
I understand that this should take some time. I can transfer the file at 900k/s across a local network in a fraction of the time I can upload to YouTube. My advice is to just let the darn thing process. Don't cancel and start over because then you would have just wasted all the time you let it go for before cancelling because guess what. Its going to take just as long as it did before. Except now you're essentially doing it twice. I have read reports that people from all over the world are upload to YouTube all day every day at any given time.
Their servers and bandwidth at the server sites must be stretched to the thin hair of a Gazelle. Just be happy that you can even upload a video to a magical piece of metal, copper, gold and silicone. Be happy and amazed that it even works at all.

A video I want to upload is under 2 minutes long, so shouldn't take long at all right??? I started yesterday around noon, as it was my first time uploading I assumed the 1165min loading was normal so I left it on for the rest of the day and night.
I went to bed with it at 11% and 1045mins remaining, I wake up today and it's gone down to 7% and 10949mins remaining. Can you see my frustration?? And now I see that the insane, abnormal waits arenas normal at all. That NewMommy 15:50. I have had this issue forever. I actually start uploading my video the night before because no matter how long or short it is,I know it will take forever. So I start uploading the night before the day I know I won't be using my computer.
Video usually finishes uploading past the 15 hour mark. TODAY though, it finished uploading and when it's processing a few minutes later it tells me it's failed. I know it's acceptable format because I've used the same ones in my other videos and I use the same editor. This is so frustrating because whenever it's uploading, I dont use the computer so that it won't cause any problems. This means, I get to do no work. So now I'm going to have to miss another day?
=oS Louie Deez 08:49. I'm having a similar issue, but in my case, videos basically don't even play anymore.
YouTube playback is getting slower and slower, it's almost to the point YouTube isn't worth using on my iPhone 5 anymore, both 4G and Wi-Fi. It's slow on my dedicated Ethernet line on my MAC at home too, absolute crappy, choppy, erratic and full of warning messages about buffering, especially playback in 'fullscreen mode.'
My Internet connection is 500 gigabits per second fiber optic line, so this slowdown is 100% YouTube's FAULT!! I'm having the same stupid warning message everyone else is complaining about, 'Video is Now In Fullscreen Mode, click OK to Continue' like WTF people?! I know it's FULLSCREEN, I clicked the damn FULLSCREEN BUTTON you idiots!!! It seems to me, the YouTube dev team is creating fictitious work for themselves by intentionally breaking things that worked flawlessly before! Where I work, that's called CORPORATE SABOTAGE, the entire YouTube team would all be out of work in the real world!!
STOP BREAKING WHAT ALREADY WORKED!!!!! Now it just gets worse, and worse, and worse, with the introduction of each enhanced 'feature,' YouTube becomes SLOW MOVING BLOATWARE. As a stable video streaming platform, YouTube is absolute rubbish. Videos on Vimeo.com playback clean, fast and smooth in 1080p, YouTube can't even buffer a low quality video in 360p anymore. HUGE WASTE OF TIME!!
Hardline Feminists 01:34. Oh, you mean like wait until 1:30 AM? I did, doesn't do a damn thing for slow playback. Your 'solution' is no solution at all. The only thing clear to me is that you're out of touch with the real users of this service.
You're just a tech guy working for Google, what do you know? Of course it's fast at Google where you work!!
No real world experience at all. Try watching a video on my iPhone or MAC, it worked great for years until about a week ago, upload/playback simply sucks now. It's NOT on our end, it's on YOUR END wise-guy. Whovian Girl 18:26. Found the solution. Well things that make upload about 3-4 times as fast! You're welcome in advance 😉.
It's 2 parts. So just uploading a 1 minute video to youtube on firefox was going to take me 99mins.
Then I tried that same video on Google chrome and it would take 75mins. So quicker already. Then I found a site online called clipchamp (free and no registration) that compresses your video while keeping the quality. So google chrome and clipchamp ftw. That same 1 minute video took about 8mins to be compressed and then only 14mins to upload to youtube.
So in total 22 minutes compared to 75mins. That's almost 4 times quicker. Again, you are all welcome. Judeao-Christian Witch 17:50. Ok, so about another 12 hours after i wrote my original post, it was still doing it. Tried firefox - same result.
Tried internet explorer straight after - MAGIC.everything back to normal, and a usual upload time of about an hour for my 1.4GB file. So in the end, it had nothing to do with file format, length of video, nothing. For whatever reason, it was broken with chrome and firefox (and yes, tried both without any adblock or anything) - and with internet explorer, all was fine. So its either pure coiincidence, that i happened to change to IE just when whatever was causing the issue (maybe between ISP and youtube etc.) was fixed.Or it was definitely a browser issue. If it was a browser issue, then, lol that it was unreliable/didn't work with chrome, but fine in IE - the irony.

BillyRayCitrus 18:38. I am having this problem as well, I'm trying to upload HD video and it says that it will take days to upload.
Toony Over The Top Reloaded Uploaded Videos Online
I have tried this at a number of times throughout the day, including over night, and the results are the same. Lowering the quality isn't an option because.
Well, I want it to actually look professional. It is a pretty big file at 70gbs, but I'm sure others who upload HD video are dealing with files of around the same size. I have even left it on over night sometimes and in the morning it is still at 0%.
I'm uploading AVI, which Google says it is a acceptable format to use. IbrHimlincoln 20:25.
I had a similar problem, I am in the UK by the way, and although I don't upload that often I had those ridiculous upload times. I use the free version of Sothink Video Convertor, but I don't think it really matters what compression program you use. It boils down to Youtube problems at times and eventually they get rectified. I think it is down to servers in your region, at times, cannot handle the upload traffic.
At times we expect too much from the technology we use. Be patient and I am sure Youtube will eventually sort the problem. Jds2k16 18:48. OK, so based on the fact that this string of posts goes back to 2012 with everyone saying the same thing, I'm going to assume there is no hope for my video taking less than 600 minutes (which really turns into days) loading any faster?? Bye bye YouTube. Time for an alternative.
Clearly you're not listening to people or interested in fixing the problem. And it's not because of priority or high volume upload times because I've been trying this at all hours of the day for 3 days and the best I got was 190 minutes and even that ended up getting hung up and didn't get past 17% loaded in 3 hours.FIX IT.????nfdgjk 09:38.
